"Angel and devil"
Now I'm in the Central Grand Theater, waiting for a drama to begin. To be honest, the air here smells a little strange. I don't really like it. It was Kyle who dragged me to this place, and told me that if I stayed in my lab anymore, I would definitely become a total nerd. It seems to him my research never brings anything cool. Anyways... the drama recommended by Kyle should be good. Now the curtain flies apart, it begins! A beautiful and gorgeous lady shows up and sings a monologue. In a blink of an eye, she becomes a street punk on the stage. It feels like she is born one of them. How amazing and volatile she is! Now I know why Kyle kept the plot of the drama secret. You would never understand what this drama feels like unless you really watched it. Kyle seems to know what I am thinking, and finally gives me the lady's name, Ethel.

"Leave with me"
What I guessed has been confirmed in the last conversation with Dad. Our country started planning to start a war against the Empire years ago! Although Dad did not say anything, I was still sure he kept trying his best to seize the benefits for my family in this future war. I can´t reason myself to do as he's doing. I should leave. This afternoon, I went to the theater to say goodbye to Ethel. Surprisingly, Ethel told me she'd like to leave with me, even if she is extremely popular in this city. I knew what it meant to her, but my inner selfishness told me not to refuse her. I have made my family disappointed, but I will never disappoint Ethel in my entire life.

"I will not leave you alone"
Little Nord is getting worse. Even with simple disinfection by wine, his wound began to fester. It is no good for us to keep hiding in the basement. Through secret observations these days, I have found out the general time for the enemy guards to switch everyday. Choque and I decide we are going to slip out of the basement with Nord, and see if we are lucky enough to meet some guerrillas. Little Nord asked us to leave him in the basement and that he would be fine living by himself for days eating potatoes. But his eyes tell me he will end himself once we leave. Anyway, I wish the native Heel Mountain person, Choque, will save us.

"My new name"
This might be the last argument between Dad and me. Finally, he agreed to my application to join into the air force, the useless force to the war in his opinion. For me, to be enlisted is not for inheriting my father's military rank or showing off my noble family name. It is to show them I am able to become the best officer. Sky is the place where I will make this dream come true. From now on, "Captain" is my name.

"He disappears forever"
Wendell has been silent for two days. Fortunately, we don't need his order since we are retreating with the army. As his lieutenant and friend for several years, I cannot do anything to comfort him. After the order to fire at his hometown, Hasenburg, he kept almost as silent as a post for around half an hour. At the end, he provided an accurate location and gave us the command, shelling his hometown. During the shelling process, Wendell talked to me about the attractions of Hasenburg with a loud voice almost yelling. It felt like we were not bombing, but rather travelling in his hometown. He was not calm and chic anymore as usual, but depressing and despairing. Obedience is the military's duty, but the commanding officer of the "magnet gun" battalion would be lost forever.

"Angel's tears"
Today I sneaked out of the basement to pick up some firewood. Robert strongly criticized us for this dangerous behavior when Alma and I came back together. She came out to bring me back safely. I saw her cry again last night. Alma is always positive, I really got shocked the first time I saw her weeping during the night. She told me her eyes teared up just because she yawned. I was sure she lied to me. It must be Loner's letter that made her miss him again.

"God bless you"
Today "trouble maker" Todd sneaked out of the basement again. When Alma found him, they were so close to the guards that they were almost discovered by the enemy. Honestly, I am kind of worried about her, since she cares too much for the kids, especially for those who just lost their families. Those kids probably remind her of Loner. I hope the war will end soon, it is impossible for an old fellow like me to take care of them forever.

"The Red Dragon"
We met the Red Solo today in an air fight. He flight a BP100 just like they said. Allen and Herman's Night Owl was caught by him first, and there seemed no way for those poor two to get rid of him. Just as everybody expected, the Night Owl's wing got shot by the Red Solo, who had flown back safely before we surrounded him. Allen and Herman baled out of their aircraft and got saved. They came back to our base with white vacant faces. No one talked. The Red Solo, an angel or devil?

"The big conspiracy"
At the beginning of the war, the elaborate plan of operation from Defense Department really struck me as strange. They even had already taken every day's weather situation into account. Today, the army commander made it clear, it was our country who led up the war against the Empire. They planned everything well and finally started it. Shame! On the other side, the Empire is no better. They had continued to secretly develop terrible toxic gas weapons and tanks for years. In other words, they also did a pretty thorough job in preparing the war. The army commander also warned me if I decided to quit the army, not only myself, but all my family would not be in the nobility anymore. Dean was right, once in, always in.

"Where's my happy time"
In today's party, it was pretty surprised to encounter Loner, my old friend Dean's son. I was one hundred percent sure this kid must Dean's son when I first saw him. It gave me hell to know that Dean had passed away. Today, I can still remember how we edged into Central Grand Theater with hundreds of people and watched the show of Ethel, this kid's mother. You told me you just would like to live a life of ease with Ethel, but who would have thought that your son would finally get caught up in the war, and would even become our combat hero? Loner said you made him promise to never join in. You probably had already known the truth behind this dirty war at that moment.

"He close his eyes"
It was an ambush! Those Vulcans were just bait, and we got surrounded by several Night Owl IIs, the most advanced fighter of the Empire. Harris yelled out loudly, "We got to pass through the cloud! Don't let the enemy have sight on us!" It worked! We took two Night Owls down, and there was only one left still chasing us. A tough one! I tried keeping our position close to their left side. The two gunners of both planes aimed the other at the same time! Apparently, it became a real duel! Harris started shooting wildly with a roar. The enemy did the same to us as well. We got shot and our flight started shaking violently. However, this time luck seemed to be on our side, the enemy's aircraft had burst into flame. Harris still kept shooting like a monster, when I looked back on him, I found his ........................................................................................................................
"Finally awake from nightmare"
Finally, I got away from all the chaos. I'd like to do something to help Dean's son before I leave, but he had his own plan. Well, both of us could stay out of "The Reaping", the final operation against the enemy. What a fantastic name to show how most nobles view this war. Not just the nobles, all civilians of this country actually like this name, as the nationalism rises up widely. It must be a tough job for the propaganda minister to tell everybody we are fighting a just war, with knowing the real truth behind it. Would he still be peaceful years later after retirement?

"Fish with my son"
Loner is still looking for his wife, while the one who shelled the hometown now is enjoying the life with family. How fair it is! One of the diplomats of the Empire's Foreign Affairs used to be a soldier during the war. Once he knew it was the "Red Solo" looking for his wife, he immediately decided to help me. Loner's goodness in the war finally got some reward. My son is a big fan of Loner. He is always asking me to tell stories about him when we go fishing. To be honest, I don't know much about Loner, as I was not in his unit. I heard an officer in the Air Force Academy used to be with him, so I'm sure I can get more about Loner from that officer.

"The memories"
After my morning class, I got to chat with a young fellow, Todd. He comes from Peaceburg town, where Loner lived. Todd is just as outstanding as Loner, but more positive and bouncy. The topic in our chat was always about Loner and his wife. If it hadn't been Todd, I would never know those stories of Loner and Alma during the war. Loner never mentioned these things at all. I asked Todd about the reason for joining the Air Force. The answer was quite simple, "It used to be for looking for Alma, but now it is for meeting them up in the air again."
